So, as I promised, here I am :) Today I have planned to publish completely different content on my blog but:
- this is my 100th blog post,
- this morning I gained over the 2000 followers on Bloglovin,
- this is my last week off,
so I decided to change the plan and do a little surprise, especially for those who have been waiting for the following post from almost a year ;)
I have to admit that I struggled with this project a lot. I've done the illustrated part in the first few weeks but creating online version of my works was extremely difficult and time consuming for me. But maybe I should start with a few words of explanation...
Asymmetry of Life is a project I've started last year when I had an opportunity to meet and work with a lot of fantastic people. I thought that is a good reason to make something more than 'visual' project and use this experience as a part of my new series of illustrations. I was trying to find out what is the best way to show how amazing but also different these people are. How they think, how they live, how they solve their problems...
That is why I decided to ask people to finish the same 9 sentences. I have made a list of words which are important in their everyday life. I wanted to know what these words mean to them and how many differences will be between their opinions.
At the begining AoL was created just as a printed book which I used as a part of my Graphic Design final Major Project. The book also containing sets of paper strips which let us to discover the answers by turning the pieces one by one. (See below.)
Over the past few months I was looking for the best way to show you my finished project on the Internet.
I wanted to do this quite simple abut also to keep the 'strips' idea. And here it is!

Jak obiecałam, tak jestem :) Na dziś zaplanowany był zupełnie inny post ale biorąc pod uwagę, że:
- właśnie przypada 100 notka na blogu,
- mój Bloglovin zyskał rano 2000 followers'a,
- oraz (pobocznie) to mój ostatni wolny tydzień,
postanowiłam zrobić małą niespodziankę, szczególnie dla tych którzy czekali na poniższy post od prawie roku ;)
Przyznaje ,że zmagań z tym projektem miałam co niemiara. Chociaż z częścią ilustracyjną uporałam się w kilka tygodni to przekształcenie wszystkiego w ogólnodostępną wersję internetową i to w taki sposób jaki bym chciała, był dla mnie czasochłonnym wyzwaniem. Ale dla nie wtajemniczonych zacznijmy od kilku słów wyjaśnienia...
Asymmetry of Life to projekt który rozpoczęłam w marcu zeszłego roku. Szukając inspiracji do moich prac, postanowiłam wykorzystać fakt, że los postawił na mojej drodze wielu fantastycznych ludzi. Chcąc przemycić z ich życia coś więcej poza portretami, zaczęłam myśleć jak zawrzeć w jednym miejscu wszystkie wspólne poglądy i dzielące ich różnice. Rozwiązaniem okazała się prośba o dokończenie 9 tych samych zdań, rozpoczynających się słowami zaczerpniętymi z różnych dziedzin życia, takich jak: praca, kultura i pokolenia.
Dodatkowo projekt ten był częścią mojej zeszłorocznej pracy dyplomowej. Początkowo ograniczał się on do wydrukowanego egzemplarza książki, zawierającego serię ilustrowanych wywiadów. Do każdego z nich zostały dołączone papierowe paski, dzięki którym czytelnik może 'bawić się' w odkrywanie kolejnych faktów o danej osobie, jeden po drugim. (Patrz: zdjęcia pod postem)
Następnie przez wiele miesięcy szukałam jak najlepszych środków za pomocą których mogłabym przedstawić prace w internecie nie rezygnując z elementu 'odsłaniania' informacji. Tak powstała ostatecznie zakończona strona na której znajdziecie cały projekt:

Ps. Przez kilka najbliższych tygodni co ŚRODĘ będę publikować na moim blogu, jedną osobę z powyższego projektu by zainteresowani mogli na spokojnie zapoznać się z treścią odpowiedzi, a także szczegółami ilustracji.
